Newspaper Endorsements from Fiona's 2006 Campaign
- San Francisco Chronicle Ma has been a voice of reason on a board that all too often lacks it. She has shown a commitment to social-justice issues as well as the legitimate concerns of businesses that produce the jobs and tax revenue that expand prosperity. She gets our endorsement in the District 12 Democratic primary on June 6.
- San Francisco Examiner Ma has exhibited a much-needed common-sense approach on a Board of Supervisors that too often takes off in ideological flights of fancy. A moderate legislator, Ma has supported homeownership opportunities for city residents, more funding for public schools, pedestrian-safety improvements and incentives for business development. She has also emphasized fiscal responsibility and accountability in government, subjects that often don’t get headlines but are appreciated by taxpayers.
- San Mateo County Times When you have two candidates who are as charismatic and passionate as Fiona Ma and Janet Reilly are about their bid for the Democratic nomination in the 12th Assembly District, it's difficult to pick a winner. In reality, both are stellar women who could competently fill the shoes of Leland Yee, who is termed out of office and is running for state Senate. What it comes down to, though, is experience. Fiona Ma, a current member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, passes Janet.
- Bay Area Reporter Endorsed for State Assembly District 12.
