A Women's Equality Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Kelley House, 45007 Albion St., Mendocino; 95 years of women getting the vote will be celebrated on the lawn of the Kelley House. This is the 95th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment. With that amendment 51 percent of the population won the right to vote in the greatest peaceful revolution in the United States. Meg Courtney will conduct a program consisting of music, song, poetry and speeches. A special guest, Fiona Ma, this area's representative on the Board of Equalization, will speak. There will be a Parade of Women meeting at the Mendocino Hotel at 1:30 p.m. and marching to the Kelley House. The Mendocino Women's Choir will perform.
